How the Spiral Works
The Spiral is the Uncommonology® progression system. It shows how a visitor moves from first curiosity into deeper participation: beginning with the Free Certificate, continuing into the Soft Degree, moving onward through the Feint Postgrad and Silent PhD, and eventually reaching the possibility of Builder status.
This is not a rigid academic ladder. It is a playful route through the university world. Each stage gives the learner a clearer role, a stronger sense of belonging, and a more meaningful connection to the wider Uncommonology project.
What the Spiral Reveals
The Spiral makes the journey visible. It shows what each stage is for, what the learner receives, and where the path can lead next.
The Free Certificate opens the door. The Soft Degree becomes the main paid learning experience. The Feint Postgrad and Silent PhD extend the world for returning learners. Builder status points toward the future: trusted contributors helping Uncommonology grow.

1. Free Certificate
The Free Certificate is the open doorway into Uncommonology®. It gives new visitors a first experience of the university world without needing to pay, commit, or understand the whole Spiral immediately.
It exists to turn curiosity into participation. Complete the first experience, collect the entry certificate, and decide whether you want to continue deeper into the Soft Degree pathway.

2. Soft Degree
The Soft Degree is the main Uncommonology® learning experience. It is where curiosity becomes a proper course journey: structured, collectible, and playful without pretending to be traditional academia.
A learner may complete more than one Soft Degree across different subject pathways. Each one gives them a focused route through uncommon knowledge and a certificate that marks their completion within the university world.

3. Feint Postgrad
The Feint Postgrad is the playful postgraduate continuation of Uncommonology®. It is not the first step, and it does not need to be sold too early. It exists as the next doorway for learners who have completed the Soft Degree and want to continue further into the university world.
At this stage, its main job is to show that Uncommonology has depth. Visitors should understand that the Soft Degree is not a dead end: it leads somewhere stranger, more advanced, and more ceremonial.

4. Silent PhD
The Silent PhD is the quiet culmination of the Uncommonology® learning ladder. It represents the final ceremonial stage of the Spiral: less about collecting another course and more about completing the long joke properly.
This stage should feel intriguing rather than fully explained. For visitors, it signals that Uncommonology is not just a shopfront of courses, but a world with depth, progression, and rewards for those who keep going.

5. Builder Status
Builder status is where the Spiral begins to turn outward. Builders are trusted contributors who may help expand Uncommonology® by proposing courses, creating resources, and adding new unusual knowledge to the university world.
This is not open to everyone on day one. It is a future contributor path for people who understand the tone, structure, and spirit of Uncommonology. The Silent PhD marks one possible route toward that status.

6. The Spiral Forum
The Spiral Forum is the community side of Uncommonology®. It gives learners somewhere to gather, ask questions, share odd discoveries, and stay connected beyond the course pages.
For now, the community lives in the Uncommonology Facebook group. This keeps the launch simple while still giving students and benefactors a place to belong.
