Learners advancing from Subtle Undergrad to Silent PhD in Uncommonology courses

Pathways in Uncommonology

Learning here is playful, curious, and light-footed. None of our pathways take years to finish — most can be enjoyed in an evening, a weekend, or a few relaxed sessions. Think of them as adventures in uncommon knowledge: short, entertaining journeys where you’ll uncover oddities, hidden histories, and curious practices that sit just outside the ordinary.

The Pathways

  • The Initial CertificateFREE – A friendly first step into the world of Uncommonology. Simple, welcoming, and designed to spark your curiosity straight away.
  • The Subtle Undergrad – Foundations in uncommon knowledge, offered in neat, easy-to-finish modules. Not heavy study, just a playful framework for building your first “degree-like” experience.
  • The Soft Degree – Our flagship path, gathering modules across a full subject area. Still light enough to finish in a short time, but broad enough to feel like you’ve really explored a field.

  • The Feint Postgrad – A tongue-in-cheek take on postgraduate study: advanced ideas, comparisons, and theories — served in digestible, entertaining sessions.

  • The Silent PhD – The highest tier of Uncommonology. Short, strange, and a little abstract — but still designed to be completed quickly. More about delight than difficulty.

  • Short Certificates – Quick dips into singular curiosities. Designed for entertainment and insight, they’re always available to pick up whenever the mood takes you.

  • BQUIK – Our take on the BTEC idea: applied, quirky, and a little more structured. Fun, project-style modules that you can complete quickly but still come away with a sense of achievement.

Where to Begin

There’s no wrong place to start. Many learners begin with the Initial Certificate, then try a Short Certificate or a BQUIK. Others dive straight into the Subtle Undergrad. Wherever you land, you’ll find entertaining modules that invite you to play with knowledge and enjoy the uncommon — without the weight of real exams or endless study hours.
