Terms of Use.

Uncommonology® is a creative online learning platform offering curiosity-led educational content and playful learning experiences.

The platform presents itself through the imaginative framework of a fictional university. However, purchases, payments, accounts and access to paid content are real transactions.

Uncommonology® courses are designed for personal enrichment, recreation and intellectual curiosity. They are not accredited academic programmes and do not award recognised academic qualifications.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or make a purchase independently.

Anyone under 16 may only use the platform with the knowledge, permission and appropriate involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account or placing an order.

Some parts of the platform require a learner account.

You are responsible for:

• keeping your login details secure;
• providing accurate account information;
• preventing unauthorised use of your account;
• notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.

Accounts are intended for individual use and may not be shared, sold or transferred to another person.

We may suspend or close an account where there is evidence of misuse, fraud, unlawful activity, unauthorised sharing or a serious breach of these Terms.

Course descriptions, prices and included features are shown on the relevant course or product page.

Unless clearly stated otherwise:

• courses are self-paced;
• purchases provide personal access to the specified course;
• access is for the purchaser or named gift recipient only;
• course materials may not be copied, shared or redistributed;
• completing a course does not create an employment, professional or accredited academic qualification.

We may make reasonable changes to course formatting, presentation, lesson order or supporting materials where this does not materially reduce what was purchased.

We do not guarantee that every course or service will remain available indefinitely. Where a paid course is withdrawn, we will take reasonable steps to preserve access, provide a suitable alternative or offer an appropriate remedy where required.

Prices are displayed on the relevant course, product or pathway page.

Unless a page clearly states otherwise:

• payments are one-off purchases;
• prices are shown in pounds sterling;
• no recurring subscription is created;
• payment must be completed before paid access is provided.

Payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers.

Uncommonology® does not receive or store complete payment-card or bank-account details.

We may cancel or refund an order where:

• payment has not been authorised;
• the price was displayed incorrectly;
• the product is unavailable;
• we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse;
• we are legally required to do so.

Courses and downloadable materials may constitute digital content or digital services under UK consumer law.

Where you purchase digital content, you may have a statutory cancellation period.

If you ask for immediate access to digital content during that cancellation period, you may be required at checkout
to:

• expressly request that access begins immediately; and
• acknowledge that your cancellation right may be lost once supply of the digital content begins.

Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer.

Digital content supplied for payment must meet the standards required by consumer law, including being of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

Refund requests will be considered in accordance with your statutory rights and the circumstances of the purchase.

A refund may be available where:

• digital content is faulty;
• the content is materially different from its description;
• access cannot be provided;
• a valid statutory cancellation right applies;
• we agree that another remedy is appropriate.

A change of mind does not automatically create a right to a refund after digital access has begun where the required request and acknowledgement were properly obtained.

Nothing in this section affects rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Some courses or learning experiences may be offered without charge.

Free access may still require an account and remains subject to these Terms.

Certificates issued by Uncommonology®:

• record participation or completion within the Uncommonology® platform;
• are collectible and recreational credentials;
• are not accredited qualifications;
• must not be altered or presented misleadingly;
• may include a certificate number or verification reference.

We may correct or withdraw a certificate where it was issued in error, obtained through misuse or materially altered.

Where a course is purchased as a gift:

• the purchaser must provide accurate recipient information;
• the recipient may need to create or activate an account;
• course access belongs to the named recipient;
• the purchaser is not automatically enrolled;
• one purchase may not be redeemed by multiple recipients.

Gift messages must not contain unlawful, abusive, threatening or infringing content.

The Uncommonology® name and associated branding are protected intellectual property.

Unless otherwise credited, the website and its contents are owned by or licensed to Uncommonology®, including:

• course text;
• lesson materials;
• graphics and images;
• certificates;
• logos and branding;
• website design;
• downloadable resources;
• audio or video;
• original fictional and institutional material.

You may use purchased course materials only for your own personal, non-commercial learning.

You may not, without written permission:

• copy or reproduce substantial parts of the content;
• publish or distribute course materials;
• share paid access;
• sell or sublicense content;
• remove ownership or copyright notices;
• use the material to create a competing course or service;
• use automated systems to scrape, extract or reproduce content.

Where the platform allows you to submit reflections, assignments, comments, messages or other material, you retain ownership of your original work.

You give us permission to store, process and display that material where reasonably necessary to operate the platform and provide the relevant service.

You must not submit material that:

• is unlawful;
• infringes another person’s rights;
• is defamatory, abusive, threatening or discriminatory;
• contains malicious software;
• reveals another person’s private information without permission;
• falsely claims authorship or ownership;
• is intended to disrupt the platform.

We may remove submissions that breach these Terms.

You must not:

• use the website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data;
• interfere with the security or operation of the platform;
• introduce viruses, malicious code or harmful technology;
• scrape or harvest content or user information;
• impersonate another person;
• harass, threaten or abuse another user;
• share account credentials or paid course access;
• use the platform in a way that damages Uncommonology® or other users.

Some community activity may take place through third-party services, such as social-media groups.

Those services operate under their own terms, privacy policies and moderation systems.

Uncommonology® is not responsible for the availability, conduct, security or content of third-party platforms.

Access to a third-party community is not guaranteed as part of a course purchase unless expressly stated.

Uncommonology® content is provided for general educational, cultural and recreational purposes.

It is not intended to constitute:

• professional advice;
• legal advice;
• financial advice;
• medical advice;
• mental-health advice;
• scientific or technical certification;
• formal religious instruction;
• accredited academic study.

You should seek appropriately qualified advice where a
decision requires professional guidance.

Course discussions may explore historical beliefs, symbolism, folklore, philosophy, unusual claims or contested ideas. Their inclusion does not mean that Uncommonology® endorses them as fact.

We aim to keep the website and learning platform available and functioning properly.

However, access may occasionally be interrupted because
of:

• maintenance;
• security work;
• software updates;
• hosting failures;
• third-party service failures;
• technical faults;
• circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Where reasonably possible, we will work to restore access and protect paid learner records.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to those protections, Uncommonology® is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.

We are not responsible for losses arising solely from:

• misuse of the platform;
• reliance on content as professional advice;
• unauthorised account sharing;
• third-party websites or services;
• events outside our reasonable control.

If you use Uncommonology® for business or commercial purposes, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity or anticipated savings.

Consumer contract terms must remain fair and transparent, and statutory consumer rights cannot simply be removed by a general disclaimer.

You may stop using the platform at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access where:

• you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms;
• your use creates a security risk;
• payment is reversed or fraudulent;
• you share or redistribute protected content;
• we are required to act by law.

Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.

Termination does not remove any rights or obligations that arose before termination.

Our use of cookies and similar technologies is explained in our Cookie Policy.

Both policies form part of the information governing your use of the website.

We may update these Terms where necessary because of:

• changes to the platform;
• new products or services;
• legal or regulatory requirements;
• security or technical developments;
• changes to our business operations.

The latest version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

Changes will not unfairly remove rights relating to purchases already made.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory protections provided by the law where you live.

Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from using courts that have jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.
